Teacher Sarah Newton and Her Waste Free Classroom

Sarah Newton Bio

I gratefully acknowledge that I work, live and play on the traditional territory of the Sinixt people, which they share with the Secwepemc, Syilx, and Ktunaxa Nations. I have been teaching for 20 years: both here in Revelstoke and previously in Fort St James. My volunteer time includes work on the BCTF’s committee for social Justice, The City of Revelstoke’s Environmental Advisory Committee, and have been on the Board of Wildsight Revelstoke. I have a BA in geography and history,  and a diploma in Nature Education from Cornell University.  I love hanging out with my husband and two teenage children, cross country skiing, hiking, trail running, and activism.
