This one-hour interactive workshop will introduce educators to Pear Deck, an engaging presentation tool integrated with Google Slides that promotes active learning. With Pear Deck, educators can create dynamic lessons that encourage real-time student participation, facilitate formative assessment, and foster a collaborative classroom environment. The session will focus on practical demonstrations and hands-on practice, offering participants the opportunity to explore how Pear Deck can be used to make student thinking visible and enhance learning in diverse classroom settings.

Hina Ovais is an experienced educator with a background in curriculum and instructional design, having worked with educational institutions across the UK, UAE, Australia, and Pakistan. She holds an MA in Islamic Studies and a BCS in Computer Science and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Media and Technology Studies at the University of British Columbia. Hina’s expertise lies in using technology to enhance learning and student engagement, with a research interest in visible thinking with technology. She has delivered numerous workshops on AI in education, instructional strategies, and tools to support digital learning.
