Navigating Trans/2S and Gender Diverse Experience
Workshop Provided by Prism Services:
Prism provides workshops and training for healthcare and social service providers, students and service users on inclusion, diversity and promoting health and wellness for the LGBT2Q+ communities.Prism refers individuals to LGBT2Q+ groups, counselling, resource information and services in the community.They also support staff at Vancouver Coastal Health to increase skills and knowledge in working with members of LGBT2Q+ populations through training,networking and clinical supervision.
This informative session, conducted by Prism Services, delves into key aspects of trans/2S and gender-diverse experiences. Topics include language and concepts, the dynamics of transitioning, unique challenges, societal discrimination, family rejection, and the media’s portrayal of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. Practical insights will be shared on creating inclusive clinic or workplace environments and fostering allyship and solidarity with gender-diverse individuals. We recommend that registrants participate in both sessions to increase their understanding of the content.
Zoom sessions will take place from 3:30-5:00 PM and all will be recorded. Register once to join both the workshops!
