Edith Lando Virtual Learning Centre

The primary goal of the Edith Lando Virtual Learning Centre is to meet learners where they are — online and just-in-time — with innovative learning tools, resources, strategies and support. Our aim is to help remediate the profound educational inequalities COVID has laid bare. Our specific mandate is to design and make freely available leading edge learning tools to communities most overlooked and underserved by online education, including rural and remote, Indigenous, early childhood, immigrant and refugees, and learners with special needs.

ELVLC Annual Report 2024-25

This year’s annual report offers a look into how the Edith Lando Virtual Learning Centre continues to reimagine what accessible, community-centered online education can look like. Grounded in a mission of equity and inclusion, the Centre works with and for underserved communities across British Columbia — including early childhood educators, Indigenous learners, rural and remote schools, immigrant and refugee families, and those supporting learners with special needs.

Through responsive program design, strategic partnerships, and the development of free, cutting-edge digital tools, the Centre remains committed to creating just-in-time, place-based professional learning opportunities that meet educators and communities where they are. Explore the report to see how our priorities in 2024–25 continue to shape a more just, participatory, and connected future for virtual learning.
